Fresh and Chic: Soy Aromas/Marina Cosmetics - November 19, 2009It’s definitely an eco-friendly week because we’re introducing two fabulous lines of products that are good for your body & your home. 
First is Soy Aromas which is a small business owned by Greta Kokkines. If you are a candle lover (and remember that candles make perfect gifts), soy is a great way to go. There are so many benefits to burning soy candles…they’re non-toxic, they burn much cleaner than paraffin candles and using soy also helps U.S. farmers. It seems to me that the first soy candle that I burned was about 5 or 6 years ago…and it was very unusual to find one then. Now, many candle manufacturers are producing soy candles exclusively.
The candles from Soy Aromas are very classy and come in simple glass jars. They’ll match with any decor. My absolute favorite (and a real must-have) is their Pumpkin Souffle. It’s a true pumpkin scent that will guarantee that anyone who walks in your home will think you are baking a pumpkin pie. One of the finest pumpkin scents I’ve ever smelled. 
We also burned Lavender and Mediterranean Fig and they were just as lovely…and very true scents as well. Other scent choices include Banana Nut Bread, Blueberry Cobbler, Currant & Nectarine, Lavender Cucumber Sage, Peppermint Kisses, White Tea and several others.
The candles can be purchased in two sizes….both very reasonably priced. $13.99 will get you a 9 ounce jar which will burn for 55-60 hours or for $7.99, you can purchase 5 ounce jars which will burn for 25-30 hours. A good stop for the perfect gift this holiday season. Next, meet Marina Cosmetics. The brainchild of Kristin Null-Croner, the company was formed about a year & a half ago. This is a natural & organic cosmetic line with products inspired by the sea. Each product formulation has two main ingredients…Antileukine 6 and Organic Sea Kelp. So far…Marina has lip glosses & lipsticks available. There’s five different sea-worthy collections…Arabian Sea Browns, Caribbean Sea Pinks, Mediterranean Sea Berries, North Sea Neutrals & Philippine Sea Corals. The colors are absolutely gorgeous & the best part is that both the lipsticks & glosses are super hydrating.
