Rule #1:
NEVER beg or plead. Don’t call them numerous times and tell them to please, please, please call you. And don’t use the “this is an emergency” excuse. That just makes you sound desperate and let’s face it, that’s not very attractive.

Rule #2:
Implement curiosity and self interest. These two things are the most powerful forces in the human mind. You can use this to your advantage. When you combine the two together, magical things can happen. For example, when you call your ex, leave a very nice message that says you appreciate what they did for you and you want them to call you so you can thank them in person. You just used both curiosity and self interest. They will not be able to resist because they will be so curious to know what they did and what you appreciate. Because it’s a positive message, it will make your ex feel good.

Rule #3:
Now here comes the most important part of all. You HAVE to have a plan. You need to figure out what your ex did that you appreciate and what exactly to thank them for. It can be anything at all, even something small but it has to make sense. It’s very important that you have an underlying strategy or the entire plan will fall apart. You don’t want to go to all this trouble and the entire thing backfire.

Summary:
What you do before, during, and after your ex returns your call is more important than getting your ex to return your call. This entire plan is useless if you use this technique with no underlying strategy. It’s detrimental that you have a plan.
