Indies of the Week: Nurture My Body/MBeze/Blissful Bath - December 12, 2008
I suppose that I was drawn to the philosophy first. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all. Nurture My Body has a great commitment behind their products…to bring some of the healthiest items for your body to the market. Husband and wife team, Patty (an esthetician) and Rich, work together on their mostly self-sustained Washington farm to bring consumers some of the best that the earth has to offer. Each product has the ingredients listed clearly and has them marked as to whether they are organic, certified organic, wildcrafted or biodynamic/demeter certified. Which is really nice because there’s absolutely no mystery as to what you are purchasing. Any time that I’m testing products, I go straight for the moisturizers. And I can’t say enough about the two that I tried. The first is the Regenerating Cream which is fragrance free. It feels great on dry skin & I noticed an improvement within a couple of days. Very nice. This is a great choice for sensitive skin. The Vita C Cream is awesome as well…and contains green tea and shea butter. It’s a tad heavier than the Regenerating Cream…yet feels wonderful on skin. For face washing, their Cream Cleanser is a good option…this product contains avocado oil and rose water and is fast becoming a favorite.
Now, I’ve not always been wild about “natural” shampoo products but the two that I tried from Nurture My Body are amazing. First is the Soothing Shampoo Bar…I loved it immediately for the beautiful natural scent…well, anything with lavender is going to make me feel like dancing…this is some top-notch shampoo. Made with palm, coconut, olive & calendula oils, it didn’t have that feeling of drying out my already dry hair. This bar is created especially for dry & damaged hair and is gentle enough for hair that has been colored. I liked the Volumizing Shampoo as well and this product does not contain sodium laurel sulfate.
Nurture My Body is not the least expensive place to purchase your bath & body products but the quality and ingredients will have shoppers feeling that they are well worth your dollars. Each item goes a long way and is truly good for your skin. There is a 16% off sale going on right now and all orders over $75.00 ship for free. Head on over and let them know that Wickedly Chic sent you!
According to owner Mary Beth Worzella, “MBeze (pronounced embeez) is all about chic skin care products that enable you to live a healthier, cruelty-free and natural life without having to give up style and personality! It all started with the Deodorette. Most women are constantly on the go, work long hours and have busy social lives. I always wanted a small deodorant I could keep in my clutch or purse so I could freshen up on the down low, but I also didn’t want it to be obvious! Nobody made a product like this, so I rolled up my sleeves and started working on it myself. A year later, MBeze launched. Unique fashion and our many moods and personalities as women, was my inspiration for creating the look, scents, and names of this line. My hope is that it gives women a sense of freedom to be their own unique selves, no matter what anyone has to say about it!”
I loved these products with their fabulous scents & chic scent lines. Not to mention the gorgeous packaging. Wait till you get a look (and whiff) of these products. Mary Beth is right…the deodorette rocks. Stick it in your purse and you don’t have to worry about carrying a bulky stick around and it’s also ideal for airplane travel. Mine came from the Cruizee Collection (cucumber, jasmine & mint tea). Seriously…those are some of my favorite scents…and combined together? Yowza.
Other scent lines are equally enticing including Ife (pronounced ee-feh) with notes of strawberry, African musk and sandalwood. I have the roll on perfume in this and I carry it with me…always. Another favorite is the body spray in Twice Shy (pink grapefruit and raspberry). This scent is guaranteed to drive the opposite sex crazy! And if you need a whiff of summer, head for the body oil in Koko Haze. With notes of coconut, hazelnut, mango tea & orange, you’re bound to bring the sunshine in!
Based in landlocked Wausau, Wisconsin (home of ex-boyfriends), Mary Beth is a master at her craft. You’ve gotta check out MBeze. Take advantage of the 10% discount on all products going on right now….and….Wickedly Chic readers can add an additional 10% discount on top of that by using code WC at checkout.
We’re really in the pampering mode this week in Wickedly Chic. Meet another midwest-based indie business, Blissful Bath. In my humble opinion, this is the perfect place for reasonably priced bath products for the bathing beauty. In these stressful times, there’s nothing better than a good soak in the old bathtub.
Blissful Bath has stuff for your bath that is so adorable that you might not even want to use it. But you can’t worry about that…because they’ll just make more…and you’ll want to buy it. The perfect & almost edible cupcake pictured here is actually for your bubble bath. There’s a regular cupcake bubble bath and a fizzy cupcake. We were equally in love with Blackberry Brew, Happy Birthday and Berry Yummy. All fabulous.
Bath bombs are huge and moisturizing. We sampled I Dream of Sleeping (my absolute favorite!), Orange You Spicey and On Dancer On Dasher. These are custom blended fragrances that you will not find anywhere else.
If you’re a shower type of gal, don’t miss the Shower Butter which is a compact & fragrant smelling moisturizer that you use in the shower. I loved Kisses from Kauai. It really kept my skin soft all day long. There are so many fab products in this shop…& something for everyone in your family. Take advantage of their shipping special. All orders over $25.00 ship for free! How can you beat that? Stop by today.
