Indies of the Week: Aguacate & Co./Lindy Sue's - August 28, 2008
It all started way back in high school when I was purchasing some powder blush at the Estee Lauder counter. This was a big deal for me as the blush cost a whopping $7.50 which was pretty much out of my budget at the time. Yet the woman behind the counter taught me something that has carried me through my life…“if zee juz buy zee makeup and do not care for zee skin, you will lose your looks early in zee life.” She didn’t try to sell me any moisturizer, she was simply making a point. Skin is important.
Aguacate & Co. knows how important skincare is. They offer shoppers premium skincare made with organic ingredients. So if you have sensitive skin or just want the very best for your face, you will feel great knowing that every Aguacate product is hypo-allergenic, contains only naturally-derived preservatives & all products are free of parabens, silicones, sulfates & synthetic dyes. Most of the products are certified vegan.
My skin tends to be dry & I’ve been having great results with their Hydrating Facial Creme and the Rejuvenating Eye Treatment. I love these products. My face (which has probably been exposed to too much sun this summer) feels deliciously hydrated. I love the fact that a little bit goes along way…doesn’t take much to have your skin feeling fabulous.
Be sure to check out their entire line…Aguacate has a skin ritual page where they’ll show you exactly how to use their outstanding products.
I actually like doing laundry. I’d better…since I do enough of it. My college age daughter just left for the school year and left the laundry room in shambles. The weather this weekend has just been too delightful to want to tackle the laundry room but starting next week, I’ll be back at it.
Some people love laundry and some don’t. In either case, Lindy Sue’s can convert any laundry hater into a laundry addict. The most important thing to know about Lindy Sue’s is that they are attempting to turn an untidy world into a tidy one. I’m all for it. Pictured here is the Claudette Clothespin bag. Can’t you just see one of these hanging in your laundry room creating an adorable environment? You don’t even need to be a fan of the laundry lines to enjoy these…all kinds of things can be stored in a Claudette…including all of the things that you find in pockets while laboring away at the laundry loads. And since paperwork goes hand in hand with laundry, you’ll love her stylish recipe cards & laundry lists.
Other great items from Lindy Sue’s include the Come Clean Kit (perfect for travel). Seriously…everyone needs one of these. On my last vacation, we had one almost ruined shirt before getting on the plane and by the end of the day, we had another almost ruined one. They ended up not being ruined because I went to the store to get something to remove the stains. I should have had this kit in my travel bag.
Everything at Lindy Sue’s is lovely, thoughtful & ever so practical while being wickedly chic at the same time. Including her website…which is beautifully designed. Enjoy!
We have an excellent freebie this week for all of you artsy types. Click this link to download an exclusive Wickedly Chic collage from Charming Sam.
