Indie of the Week: Symren - June 19, 2008

Now here’s an small company that you should know about if you have dry & troubled skin. Personally, I have dry skin but I usually keep it at bay with lots of moisturizing. But…I have found a new partner in my quest for healthy skin and that is Symren. Owner Ingrid Anderson, a dry skin sufferer herself, founded Symren after a move to New York where she found her skin was not so happy. Her key ingredient, Active Manuka Honey from New Zealand, is invaluable in these wonderful products & have made a world of difference in her skin (as they will in yours too). Much research showed her that Active Manuka Honey had many properties which were conducive to helping dry skin. This honey is well renowned for its antibacterial activity.

I tried the C-15 Antioxidant Treatment. This product is designed to neutralize free radicals, provide antioxidant protection, repair the skin barrier and accelerate healing. It’s also great for retarding your skin’s aging process. You simply shake the bottle & use it in the morning and follow up with your regular moisturizer. I have noticed my skin to be much softer and not as dry since using the C-15. The products are fragrance free so they won’t irritate your skin. I had my regular PMS pimple (it always shows up) while I was using C-15 and amazingly…the C-15 cleared it up right away.

I’m also happy to recommend the Vitamin C Booster. Now, this is pretty hot. The Vitamin C Booster was formulated to treat & prevent hyperpigmentation. If you’ve spent time in the sun, you’ll know what I mean…you look tan & healthy but your skin is not always completely overjoyed with too much sun. Here’s a solution. The Booster comes with a cute little scooper and you just plop a little scoop into the palm of your hand, add your moisturizer & mix together. It does work. My skin has been much happier since using the Vitamin C Booster.

You’ll notice that the products are a bit more pricey than your average drugstore brands. However, you are paying for quality ingredients with products that do what they say they will. Also, you don’t need much. A little goes a long way. You’ll be shocked at how little you really need.

Give Symren a try & let me know how you like their products. I’m already a big fan.
