Fresh and Chic: Bathing in Luxury/Yoto Bags - June 5, 2008

We’re always happy to welcome back a business that we’ve featured before…revisiting is always so much fun…especially when pretty smelly things are involved. Bathing in Luxury is owned by Hiromi, last week’s Reader of the Week. Yes, those were Hiromi’s hands that you saw on the home page of Wickedly Chic holding the bar of soap.

She wanted us to try out some of her new products and they were all definitely winners. First, if you are looking for a very natural color for your lips for summer, the Sheer Tint lip gloss is awesome. I loved both the Blackberry Lime and Nutmeg Rose. My lips were moisturized and tinted & I’m happy. That’s what summer is all about. Simple & chic.

For the soaps, you can’t miss Blue. I loved the scent so much that I kept sniffing it before I used it. A lot. A lot, a lot. So I checked to see what Hiromi had to say about Blue….which happened to be quite a bit. “Blue. One of my new scents. I gladly would roll around in this all day long. It’s a wonderful unisex blend of green citrus, ginger, licorice, patchouli, lavender, coriander, cedar, tonka bean with a whiff of caramel and vanilla. Muted midnight blue swirl imparted by a mix of coconut charcoal and mineral pigment. Mmmmmm, serious olfactory orgasm here.” Yes, it’s that good. Truly.

More summer fun…how about Lemon Bar soap? It actually looks like those delicious lemon bars that you love to eat…if you love them, that is. The lemon is mixed with a crust & the combination is outstanding. Just don’t eat it. Bathe with it. Be happy.

Finally, summer means sweat and sweat can be…not so pleasant. Throw a tube of Vanquish Stinky Arm Pits in your purse or gym bag. This is a vegan deodorant that comes in lots of yummy scents…and even in a mini size so you can carry more than one around.

Visit Bathing in Luxury often. There’s always something new.

Last week, we visited Sonya Derian’s shop, Om Freely. This week, let’s pop on over to her other indie shop, Yoto Bags.

What is a Yotobag? Well…it’s a bag for yoga class that is functionally fashionable. And one of these makes a lot of sense if you’re someone like myself.

I have to face facts here. I love yoga class but I’m really a klutz. I’m one of those people that’s always running out at the last minute forgetting half of my brain…mostly leaving it on the kitchen counter. The other women in my yoga class stroll in…breathing deeply…completely serene. Not I. Yes, I am the dork with the keys in one hand, my cell phone in another, my asthma inhaler (just in case), with my yoga mat trailing behind. When I remember to bring it. It’s usually hanging sweetly on the garage hook where it should be…and where I forgot it.

A Yotobag solves this problem for me. My bag has so many wonderful features and yours will too…because I know that all of you yoga enthusiasts out there are going to want to snag one of these babies.

Made in southern California, this bag can easily fold into a locker or cubicle. It has an outside pocket to put all of your stuff (cell phone, keys, etc.). There’s an inside zippered pocket where you can put your money, credit cards, coffee card or whatever you need to protect. And then…you simply slide your yoga mat inside the Yotobag. Everything that you need for your yoga class is in this simple & efficient & adorable bag. AND…there are lots of prints & patterns to choose from. You can be stylin’ and functional at the very same time!

Check these out today…even if you are not a yogini, one of these bags would make a wonderful gift. Or maybe you’ll think that they’re just so cool that you should start practicing yoga. It’s a tough world. Serenity is in.
