Indie of the Week: A Wild Soap Bar - April 24
No, it’s not a regular bar where you settle down for a drink & a snack. This is a soap bar with magnificent soaps that will have your body screaming for more.
A Wild Soap Bar is a family run business located in Texas & you’ve got to try their products to believe it.
First of all, I’d love to point out their soap sampler which would be perfect for a Mother’s Day gift or for any occasion. You’ll receive 8 small bars of soap tied together…in 8 great Texas country scents…Bluebonnet, Mesquite, Prickly Pear, Horsemint, Wildflower, Sunflower, Cedarwood & Yucca Root. If you are a soap connoisseur, you’ll love being able to try out a bunch of scents. For little ones, they offer a Wee Wild Baby Soap with gentle yarrow & calendula. And the soap of all soaps…Mustang Grape…I love the grape scent & the gentle lather.
Maggie Hanus, the owner of A Wild Soap Bar, was happy to share details about her indie business.
They’ve been in business since 1995, perfecting their natural soap recipes. Healing native botanicals are used in every bar…some wildcrafted on their rural property near Austin, TX. Their soaps contain no harmful toxic chemicals and they use only pure essential oils. A portion of their profits are donated to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and United Plant Savers to help promote the environmental necessity, economic value, natural beauty & therapeutic properties of wild native plants.
They like to remind buyers that fine handmade soap should be stored in a dry, cool & dark room environment. Heat, light & moisture are its worst enemies. And finally, Maggie says, “Use handmade soap within 6 months…it won’t stay fresh and fragrant forever, people.”
Shop here…you’ll be thrilled that you did.
