Fresh and Chic: Tval/Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - April 3, 2008
For those of you who are familiar with Tval, you might think bath & body products when thinking of this lovely Canadian company. But we have a surprise for you this week because we are introducing their new mineral makeup line called Tundra. This line has just debuted and I know that our readers are going to love checking out their delectable colors as well as the great prices.
Mineral makeup is very popular lately and seems to be popping up everywhere. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. It’s good for your skin and very natural looking. I’ve found that mineral makeup really enhances my skin and I have heard recently that some women claim that they look so beautiful while wearing mineral makeup that they can easily take 20 years off of their age. Now how often do you hear that?!?
Tval has a gorgeous eyeshadow called Piggy Buff. If you combine this with the slightly darker Trussle, you have a winning combination. Other beautiful eye shadows that I tried include Nancy Oh, Bonavista, Little Heart’s Ease and Baren. I received many compliments on the lip glazes in both Brittlestar and Scoff. If you are looking for natural lip color that doesn’t look painted on, I’d urge you to give these a whirl.
Finally, I have to rave about the Pink Snowflakes Illuminating Dusting Powder...this stuff rocks! You’ll have a great look…perfect with a tan.

I have tested one of their Atomic Luau Collections (Flotsam) and every unique scent is a winner. My two favorites are Boo Bam (bamboo reed, palm frond, and hibiscus) and Marae (vanilla orchid, Monoi tiare, gardenia, and light incense). Also from this collection is Tupapau (white sandalwood, pikaki, ‘umi’umi-o-dole, and plumeria) which is outstanding as well.
Another one of the Atomic Luau Collections is called Tiki Bar and I can highly recommend both Golden Wave (tangerine, gin, passion fruit, guava and tonic) and Blue Fire (papaya, blueberry, lemongrass & gin).
