Featured Writer: Ali Puckett - March 20, 2008customer service is dead… and it’s starting to smell bad. nearly every trip i made to a target, walmart, or best buy is marked by extreme disappointment at the lack of customer service. profit-driven businesses make poor hiring decisions, pay low, and fail to fully train employees. combine this with a struggling economy, and there you have it! the death of customer service. but what can we do? buy from small businesses. buy handmade goods. put pressure on big retailers by pursuing instances of poor customer service. and don’t forget! blog about it.
supporting small businesses and buying handmade go hand in hand. i created the : customer service is dead : social networking group for sharing our stories, our progress, our victories. please feel free to join and post details of your poor customer service experience. tell us what you’re doing to pursue it, and most importantly, share your conscious decisions about buying from the little guy. (Note from Liz…this group needs more members…so just join it already).
