Cindi shares the story of how their thriving business came to be…it started with teenagers! “What makes our products a little different is that we make soaps and body products that helped our own children’s complexions and overall skin care. We had such great results that it took a course of its own. When we first considered making our own soaps, Judy and I had 5 teenagers at the time. They all had some pimples and breakouts, dry and oils skin and we both had drawers FULL of acne & black head creams, soaps, tonics, pads, scrubs and washes. The list was endless! If you have kids, you know they HAVE to have everything on the mass market. Our first real success was with our carrot soap. It truly helps with these problems and has been one of our best sellers for years now.”

“We make everything with gentle and simple in mind. Our oils are basic and non-comedogenic. We use herbs and extracts that soothe. We use a light touch with fragrance, and our main business is with our non-fragranced products. People love that. Salons and spas like the fact that they get beautiful results without having to fumigate the room afterwards. There is a very big community out there that cannot tolerate heavy scents.”

“You will notice that corporations are getting more and more into fragrance free products. They are still laden with harmful chemicals but are getting the point we have been making for years. We’ve been toxed out. There is a large market for simple, pure body care and we help supply those products.”

The list of soaps that Hawk Moon offers is long & you are sure to find many that you like. I tried the Chamomile soap which is moisturizing, nicely scented & very mild. Lemongrass & Ginger was a delightful soap as well. Very moisturizing and smells great! Other available scents include Hydrangea, Rosebud & Yuzu. These are cold process soaps which retain the natural glycerin making them unlike anything that you will find at the supermarket. Olive oil, coconut oil, soy oil & loads of shea butter are also used in these soaps.

Hawk Moon has an amazing shea lotion that customers are sure to love. It’s light, moisturizing & feels like silk on your skin. That’s because it does contain pure silk! Love this stuff! I have it in the Lilac scent which is wonderful.

Other products include salt scrubs (yay scrubs!) which contain sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba & shea butter. Lip balms & bath fizzies in delicious flavors are available too.
