Funky & Fabulous!: Grow Wild/Accessory A La Mode/Mew Paper Arts - May 24Fabulous finds for free bird grads & all funky fashionistas!
Okay so I spent the weekend in town (Boston) so I must say to everyone that I might have seen, spoken to, bumped into, fell on… anything I did or said cannot be held against me. You see, I was at a college graduation party that had an open bar all night with excellent waitresses that just wouldn’t let you have an empty glass. So I am still recovering but with so much celebration surrounding graduations right now, I’m very sentimental about this major milestone. It’s huge. It’s phenomenal. It’s a relief. Especially for parents who have written their very last college tuition check. But I digress… Don’t stress over what to get the grad. I’ve got you covered. In addition to maybe some resume paper (that stuff can be expensive!) & the #1 gift, cash, here are some other ideas on what to get the new “free bird” or to just buy yourself ‘cause you deserve it…
Well first off, what to wear to that hot outdoor graduation ceremony? As long as you haven’t gone all conservative on me, sweet gal Casey Morris has got you covered with her Grow Wild fashion. Her tagline “Hipster fashion for the fearless fashionista” tells it all. Casey loves color so her clothing, bags & belts are all hand-made using only the boldest of fabrics. Her skirts are so fab, well-made &, most importantly, so comfortable that wearing one makes you want to run threw a meadow jumping & twirling!
Okay, I know I sound crazy. But I highly recommend her skirts for those hot outdoor soirees or to give to that free spirited grad! OH, & Casey will customize this gorgeous white petticoat to your liking with pockets, appliqués, designs, you name it.
You know I love anything with inspirational sayings. Thus, I have a new found love for everything in the Accessory a la Mode jewelry shop where everything is “inscribed by hand for the dreamer within”.
For my fave necklace, Debbie hand stamps genuine antiqued copper in the shape of a bird with “spread your wings” making the absolute perfect grad gift at only $19! She can also make it in sterling silver.
I honestly just fell upon the new Mew Paper Arts shop by accident & was attracted to the very cool artwork when voila! There were a set of note cards titled “Free Bird”. The adorable artwork is of a small bird perched on top of his cage (not inside of it). PERFECT for my whole free bird, free spirited grad theme, eh?
So the artist herself will customize the note cards with your personal saying or the grad’s name. How cool is that. The note cards are 5”x7” and come in a set of 12 for only $15!
Man, I’m just too proud of myself for the absolutely must-have indie products I found this week. Buying indie is fun but giving indie is even more fun! & graduation parties are a total blast! Thanks to the folks who threw the one I went to, you rule.
