Indie of the Week: Body Perfumery
I try to do a pretty good job of interviewing the businesses that we feature and sometimes I feel as though the business owners do such a terrific job of expressing themselves that it is time for Liz to be quiet. That is the case with Alice of The Body Perfumery. I have long admired Alice’s great indie store and she did an amazing job of giving our readers information on her shop.
Alice tells us, “I started The Body Perfumery because I couldn’t find what I wanted to use on the market. I like to use products made with really good ingredients but also in a lot of interesting fragrances. So it’s really motivated by a wish to be good to my body but at the same time keeping my mind and senses engaged with a wide variety of fragrances. I figure there must be some like-minded people out there wanting the same thing! I see bath and body products priced 3 or 4 times more than The Body Perfumery’s being sold in department stores and places like Sephora, often with mediocre ingredients and a lackluster selection of scents, and really felt my company has something to contribute in terms of both affordable quality and selection.”
The Body Perfumery has a scent list that will take the breath away of any scent junkie. Many of Alice’s scents are exclusive to the Body Perfumery and this is a trend that she plans on continuing. It’s hard to believe that you can create more scents with a scent list of over 400 scents but this is in the future for this ever expanding business.
Some of my personal favorites are Angelic (a Thierry Mugler duplicate). If you are a fan of Angel, you will love the Body Perfumery’s replica of this beautiful fragrance with notes of jasmine, musk, patchouli and brown sugar. Also gorgeous is Thai Palm with notes of green palm leaves wrapped around hibiscus, rose & muguet. I loved one of their newest scents, Belladonna, a bold perfume with notes of white carnation, blood orange, rose, woods, vanilla bean, vetiver, amber and Egyptian musk. For spring, you must try Water Orchid Cassis, a very clean smelling white floral scent.
The Body Perfumery offers 33 products that are available for scenting including perfume, soaps, cleansers, moisturizers and scrubs. The ingredients for every product offered are fully disclosed on each product’s page. In addition, customers will be delighted to know that there is no mineral oil or petrolatum and no artificial color in any of their products. The Body Perfumery is against animal testing and you will find that their entire line of products are only tested on human beings.
I feel that Wickedly Chic readers will have a real treat upon entering this site and seeing the availability of both products and mouth-watering fragrances. If you would like a little further incentive to shop, The Body Perfumery is offering Wickedly Chic readers a free 4 oz. Smooth Me! Body Lotion or a free 4 oz. Aloe Moisture Whip with any order of $30.00 or more through February 15. All you have to do is to email Alice and mention “Wickedly Chic Indie of the Week” along with your order number and your choice of freebie. Such a great deal! I love BP and you will too!
