I spoke with EGCG member Xiane White and she explained the concept behind the team. “EGCG was dreamed up in November of 2006, when some of the many Bath and Body crafters at Etsy realized that starting a street team for support for their craft would be a really great idea. The thought was that since we work with natural materials that help to keep us – and the environment – clean, the name of the group should be Etsy Green and Clean. The group includes herbalists, soapmakers, scent mavens, and bath and body mavens of all sorts. You might think that we would compete against each other, but we’ve found that the EGCG has become a very supportive collection of crafters – and our products, although similar in scope, are all quite different!”

I discovered the EGCG one evening while browsing through Etsy and finding PrairieLuxe. Proprietress and perfume artist, Jodi in Lincoln, NE had some fascinating perfume blends and I ordered her Odette scent. Frustrated by her limited perfume options in the heartland, Jodi created PrairieLuxe and her own scents. Odette is simply magnificent. Sweet orange and cherry blossom on sandalwood with a base of smoky amber comprises this scent and it is one of my favorites ever. Don’t hesitate to check out the blends by this talented woman.
