Indie of the Week: Shevon Gant Ceramics
Brooklyn-based Shevon Gant Ceramics creates beautiful art in her gallery. If you are still stuck on gift giving or want to add some extra beauty to your own home, Shevon Gant is a place to start.
One of the really cool things about Shevon’s work is that every piece that she creates sends a message. She leaves her mark on every piece perhaps even incorporating her fingerprints into the design. It is important to her that each piece reveals a part of the artist in some way.
Shevon develops and mixes her own glazes. The glazes are earthy and the shapes she creates are organic…this reflects her love for nature and keeps her style very unique. She uses smooth porcelain and dark stoneware clay to create functional art that will enhance and beautify any living or work space.
I really love this beautiful soap dish. This would be perfect in any bathroom and would enhance nearly any decor. There are other soap dishes available on Shevon’s site. Being a soap lover myself, I was pretty drawn to the dishes.

When asked about her future plans for Shevon Gant Ceramics, she told me that she is quite excited about a new section of her website which is called Perfect Presents. Shevon is teaming up other indie artists, designers and small business people to create and offer special one of a kind gifts all year around! She plans on opening a retail store and cafe which will sell her ceramic work, home accessories and natural gourmet goodies. Now that sounds like my kind of shopping!
