Wicked Love - November 16

I’m pleased to present more fragrances this week created by actress Ashley Peldon with her new business, Starring Fragrances. Ashley has a wonderful nose for creating delectible scents and she sent me some new ones last week. I am swooning over her “Femme Fatale at Night” (Heavy doses of extra dark rich amber, Egyptian musk, and layers of sensual vanilla!). This one is amazing. I can’t get enough of it. So sexy and perfect for the holidays as well as all year round.

You will NOT want to miss her Chunky Pineapple Bread Pudding scent (Ripe pineapple chunks are tossed into this batter of vanilla nut bread, caramel glaze, crushed pineapple sauce, and sweet cream!). You will have crowds sniffing anywhere you go while wearing this scent.

This is a business to watch as Starring Fragrances is constantly adding new scents which you won’t want to miss! Ashley would like to offer Wickedly Chic readers a 15 percent discount through November 13, 2007 simply by using the code “WICKED”.

While browsing through an art fair last week with my daughters, I came across the very talented Kevin Lemel and his absolutely amazing business, Raw Candles. Readers, these are da bomb. If you are looking for that candle that is a bit edgy, smells fantastic and burns perfectly, I found it for you. One of the coolest things about Raw Candles is that they will appeal to both sexes…just ‘cuz they are that cool.

Being a previous owner of a candle shop, Kevin has studied aromatherapy, essential oils, fragrances and herbs for a number of years. He has spent countless hours and thousands of dollars developing Raw Candles and his expertise and knowledge is quite apparent.

Kevin is anxious to share more about his amazing business with our readers. “I call the company Raw Candles due the high percentage of pure essential oil and essence I put in each candle. (Roots, barks, flowers, fruits, and herbs). Raw Candles are also raw because they are made by hand from top to bottom using only the highest quality waxes, wicks, and scents. I create all the wonderful blends myself. I use clean burning Japanese paraffin that decreases smoke output and a 100% cotton wick. My candles don’t leave soot on the walls. All my candles are leveled and wicked by hand so you can get the best burn possible. Raw Candles are hand strapped with vinyl which is where our tag is screwed on with a stainless steel stud. We wanted to go for a raw edgy urban look. My candles visually and aromatically separate themselves from the competition.”

Kevin continues by telling us more about his array of scents. “I would have to say my love of essential oils, cooking, and the diversity of many different cultures has helped me create some of the most unique fragrance blends imaginable. Take my latest fragrance, Asian Sensation for instance (Yuzu Chinese Orange, Lemongrass, Ginger, and Vetiver Grass). My fondness for the fragrance of premium cigar tobacco shows up in my Twisted Tobacco blend of sweet Nigerian Tobacco, Sandalwood, and spices. I love the outdoors smell of a lush forest. Shadow Moss is a smooth woodsy blend of Oak moss oil, Russian Fir, and Texas Cedar. Great for the holidays! My mother’s pumpkin pie inspired Raw Pumpkin Spice, with its authentic blend of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and vanilla.”

“I currently sell a small collection of 11 intensely fragrant and clean burning pillar candles. Every year, two new blends are brought down from the heavens. On a rare occasion one is sent back up lol. I am currently finalizing a crisp men’s cologne fragrance called Blue Steel which will be available in January. My Banilla will be replaced with my Hi Chai (a sensual Vanilla, Chai Tea, and spice) On the horizon is Inferno, Dream Catcher, and the much anticipated Campfire.”

These candles are not only some of the strongest and most fragrant that I have ever smelled but they look terrific. Okay…this is how strong they are. I purchased a few Raw Candles including the Big Papa. I am going to burn Big Papa for the holidays so I “attempted” to put it away in my closet. Even wrapped up in cloth, Big Papa was so strong that I smelled him through the entire upstairs of my home and then he started his aroma downstairs as well. And he is still cold. I ended up putting Big Papa in the garage where I smell him every time that I pull my car in. Can’t wait to burn him for the holidays. I wonder how many blocks of my suburban neighborhood will be able to smell him.

Do not miss this awesome site and if you are lucky enough to be in Chicago, Kevin will be happy to give you a list of shows where he is participating where you can meet him in person and have a great time sniffing away at the candles.
