Wicked Love: October 5

Wickedly Chic is celebrating this week with Pinky’s Daily Planner as it hosts its Fall Grande Open House featuring exceptional independent artists from around the country. For the next two weeks, we will be introducing our readers to these artists. To find out more about the Open House (and especially if you are in the Cleveland area), take a look at the Pinky’s Daily Planner website.

Stephanie Fralick is the owner of Pinky’s and she has this to say about featuring other designers in her showroom, “It’s truly hard for independent designers to make their way in the fashion world…stores can be uninterested in an emerging or independent label with unique ideas when they can simply stock the type of clothes they see stars wearing in People magazine. In recent years there’s been a palpable shift: more and more places are willing to take the chance on showcasing original thought, and more and more press will search for what’s actually the best versus what’s popularly known. I salute those who are unafraid to promote and herald the new and the different…I salute those who forge their own path with their art, with any art…and I’m proud to feature [the following] independent artists here in our own Showroom.” Three of the designers are being featured this week.

Take a look at the amazing pillows that can be had from Jessica Pilar’s website. Jessica Pilar Rodriguez was inspired by a trip to Portugal. She fell in love with the ceramic tile patterns used in their architecture and the charming pillows reflect this. Perfect for sprucing up a room that just needs a bit more color.
