Want more green around your home but just don’t have the time or energy for anything that’s high maintenance? You will LOVE this week’s interview with Linda & Steve over at Air Plant Supply Co. Start 2013 off with a green home!
One of the things that draws me to your website is low maintenance plants. I have a black thumb – and I know that there are many people out there that suffer from the same thing. How easy are Air Plants to take care of?
Air plants are very easy to care for, most of them only require a “bath” for a few minutes every 7 to 10 days. Another great thing about these plants is they do not require soil to grow. They can be displayed in a million different ways. Many of our customers will use decorative ceramic pots, glass dishes or even mount them to picture frames. They can be placed just about anywhere and are so unique.
How did your business get started and/or what led you to become an entrepreneur?
We had been looking for a small business that we could grow and find that sense of fulfillment. We came across this one and felt it was a perfect match for us. The site has been online for over 2 years and continues to grow and prosper.
What are your most popular items and what would you recommend to start out with? Do you have any great gift ideas?
Our most popular item is our 10 plant grab bag. They are very reasonable and gives the customer several different plant types at a discounted price. If you happen to stop by our site and want a great gift, take a look at the hand-crafted Tilly Pots. They are made by a very nice lady in North Carolina and each pot is one of a kind. The pictures do not do them justice, they are absolutely beautiful.
2013 will be a year for many entrepreneurs to start businesses that they may have been putting off. What one tip could you give to encourage someone who is just starting out in business for themselves?
I will give you four. First, find something you are familiar with or something you would like to do. Second, make sure there is a market for this service or product. Third and most important, make the commitment to provide great customer service and quality products. Fourth, work hard and work smart.
